the beginning.

WHAT WE CARRY

A painting begins to move.

ORA Maison was created by cousins Anne and Aida, brought together by a shared appreciation for art, beauty and pieces that carry meaning beyond their aesthetic.

Combining their artistic vision and technical expertise, they share a commitment to thoughtful design, exceptional craftsmanship and pieces of lasting value.

The artwork comes first. Selected works are translated onto silk with their symbolism and painterly character preserved: from brushwork and tonal transitions to irregularities and intricate details.

But on silk, a painting begins to move.

It folds.

It drapes.

It responds to the body.

Different details emerge and recede.

And so no two experiences of the artwork are quite the same.

A NAME OF MANY MEANINGS

A language
of its own.

Drawn from the richness and ever-evolving nature of language, ORA carries distinct yet complementary meanings.

In Italian, ora signifies both the hour and the present moment. In Latin, distinct forms of ora evoke the spoken word, expression, and the boundaries where one form meets another.

These layers of meaning resonate with the philosophy of ORA Maison, where art becomes a language of its own, moving beyond the visible and inviting individual interpretation.

ORA reflects an ongoing dialogue between artistic intention and personal experience, allowing expression to take new forms across time.

WORDS WITHIN THE WORK

Something to discover.

Words have long existed alongside the visual language of the artwork.

Within each ORA Maison scarf, a carefully chosen passage of Scripture is handwritten and subtly incorporated into the work.

Its presence is deliberately understated.

The words are there to deepen the story rather than prescribe it.

For some, the passage may carry spiritual significance.

For others it may simply speak to themes of love, loss, courage, hope and another universal human experience.

The artwork remains open.

Its meaning ultimately belongs to the person wearing it.

Love. Loss. Hope.
